Long
Island musicians join forces in a tribute to Elvis Presley to aid the needy
The 15th Annual Elvis Show will take place on January 24th,
2009 at Matty T's in Deer Park, NY. The Elvis Show features over 30 Long Island
musicians in a tribute to Elvis Presley. Admission is $10 along with a healthy
and nutritious canned food (or any non-perishable) donation. All proceeds will
to aid local food banks and outreach centers. Scheduled to appear are
members of The Lone Sharks, The Buzzards, The Hornets, The Mary Lamont Band,
The Vendettas, The Moondogs, The Bossa Nova Beatniks, The Hideaways, The Blaggards,
The Purple Gang, The Bluebeats and featuring appearances by Roy Wilson, Gene
Casey, Mary Lamont, Jim Marchese, Annie
Mark, Jon Geffner, John McGraw, Keith Hille, Tom
Gould, Mike Bifulco, Stephan Molfetta, Joe Rock and many more.
The shows founder and host, Steven Prisco said that the need to lend a helping
hand is greater than ever this year. "In these troubled times with more
people out of work than ever before the food pantries are finding themselves
unable to keep up with the demand. The Elvis Show may be a drop in the bucket,
but it does show how you can make a big difference in someone's life with just
a little effort."
The Elvis Show will team up again this year with
Rock CAN Roll to help collect and distribute the food and proceeds from
the show. Rock CAN Roll, Inc., is a volunteer, non profit, hunger relief organization
committed to restocking the dwindling shelves of local food pantries, soup kitchens,
safe homes and shelters. The concept is simple, the rewards are immense!
Directions:
From Southern State Pkwy: Take Exit 39N Deer Park. Go north about .8 mile, slight
right onto Commack Road. Matty T’s is about 1.2 miles north on the left
side.
From LI Expressway: Take Exit 52 Commack Road. Go south on Commack Road about
2.5 miles, Matty T’s will be on the right.
